TED Talk Review | Sheryl Sandberg

Women in a Leadership role Review

I  watched a TED talk video by Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook) called ¨So we leaned in … now what? The video refers about the first Ted talk that the speaker did and how she was afraid of talking about women on their leadership role and talking about personal stories. She remembered a question that her boss Mark Zuckerberg asked to his team
“ What would you do if you were not afraid? Thus, she ended speaking about that topic on 2010.

According to Sheryl Sandberg, “Stereotypes are holding women back for leadership all over the world”

Women face many challenges through all their life. Women with roles as  mother, housewife and business leader are not easy to combine. Understanding that is not only part of life but also a way to be honest with yourself  facilitates the communication  with others about what  women are all about.

In the Video She mentioned about existing groups of women created to push their self in a way to find who they are for themselves and not just for others. Also she pointed out the importance to invest in self confidence.

In my opinion  We live in a world where society creates stereotypes that limits our minds to feel wealth and strength. Mark Zuckerberg question made me realize that we must be aware of our weaknesses and question ourselves. Being  aware that it is possible ¨not  to be afraid¨ will open the vision to overcome any challenge.
